Choices for Childbirth is a not-for-profit community organisation established to provide information and resources to women and their families so they can make informed choices about pregnancy, birth and parenting.  Choices for Childbirth uses independent sources to collate the most reputable and relevant information available into sessions that cover every aspect of pregnancy: Early Pregnancy and Conception; Pregnancy, Labour and Natural Pain Management, Newborns and Early Parenting.

Transition into Parenthood

Julie Clarke - conducting wonderful active birth and calmbirth courses in Sylvania, only 20 minutes south of Sydney Airport.  A good range of options for courses: either 6 weeks 1 evening per week or 2 x Saturdays (Condensed) or 1 Sunday (Super condensed) visit her website for full details. Her calmbirth courses are the most reasonably priced and a good generous discount applies if you book a combined booking of both of her courses.  Definitely recommended!

Anxiety, Depression & Grief

Maternal Minds
Located in Cronulla, Maternal Minds offers specialised therapy sessions for the treatment of Post Natal Depression and Anxiety.  Maternal Minds is staffed by Registered Psychologists and Social Workers, all of whom are fully accredited under Medicare to provide non-directive pregnancy support, counselling and treatment of Post Natal Depression and Anxiety.

Gidget Foundation
The Gidget Foundation exists to promote awareness of perinatal anxiety and depression amongst women and their families, their health providers and the wider community to ensure that women in need receive timely, appropriate and supportive care.

PANDA (Post & Antenatal Depression Association)
PANDA's national Helpline provides confidential information, support and referral to anyone affected by depression and anxiety during pregnancy and after childbirth (perinatal depression and anxiety), including partners, family members and friends. PANDA also produces and distributes accurate information about perinatal depression and anxiety to health professionals and the wider community.

Bonnie Babes Foundation
The Bonnie Babes Foundation is a free grief counselling service for families that have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss or prematurity and related issues such as infertility.

Heartfelt
Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation of professional photographers from all over Australia dedicated to giving the gift of photographic memories to families that have experienced stillbirths, premature and ill infants and children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units of their local hospitals, as well as children with serious and terminal illnesses.  All services are provided free of charge.
